Research

The research area covered by PBD is defined as ”Research activities on plants employing molecular biology and biotechnology methodologies, and including the areas of genomics, functional genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, bioinformatics, bioimaging and molecular genetics”.

The research activities are performed within the levels of basic research, strategic research, applied research and counseling.

The PBD research activities are directed towards scopes of application which

  • contributes to solve major societal problems
  • has significant potentials for a broad array of applications
  • leads to value generating innovation for the benefit of the Danish society
  • creates the required knowledge platform for high-quality education and counselling and advice to Danish ministries and public authorities
  • creates the knowledge platform required for understanding plant gene function and utilization of the full genetic potential of plants

To facilitate match making with relevant stakeholders, this section of the PBD home page contains an overview of major infrastructure, competences and ongoing research activities on the individual PBD institutions, and including contact information to individual scientists and links to the homepages of relevant departments/sections.
