Research
The research area covered by PBD is defined as ”Research
activities on plants employing molecular biology and biotechnology
methodologies, and including the areas of genomics, functional genomics,
proteomics, metabolomics, bioinformatics, bioimaging and molecular genetics”.
The research activities are performed within the levels
of basic research, strategic research, applied research and counseling.
The PBD research activities are directed towards scopes
of application which
- contributes to solve major societal problems
- has significant potentials for a broad array of
applications
- leads to value generating innovation for the benefit
of the Danish society
- creates the required knowledge platform for
high-quality education and counselling and advice to Danish ministries and
public authorities
- creates the knowledge platform required for
understanding plant gene function and utilization of the full genetic
potential of plants
To facilitate match making with relevant stakeholders,
this section of the PBD home page contains an overview of major infrastructure,
competences and ongoing research activities on the individual PBD institutions,
and including contact information to individual scientists and links to the
homepages of relevant departments/sections.
