Denmark
The Danish public plant biotechnology research is organized in the non-profit
research consortium, Plant Biotech Denmark, with the objective to
strengthen Danish plant biotechnology research
supporting the knowledge-based national economy
in an evermore
global scene.

(PBD) has five partners including The University of Copenhagen (KU), The
University of Aarhus (AU), Aalborg University (AAU), The University of Southern
Denmark (SDU), and The Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
The main focus of the consortium strategy includes; i) Increasing coordination
of the ongoing and future plant biotech research activities at the partner
institutions, including knowledge sharing and distribution of responsibilities
within
the
key areas of research, education, innovation, counselling and use of
infrastructure; ii) Increasing collaboration and interaction with industry,
including workshops, match making events and promotion of public-private
partnerships; iii) promoting opportunities to PBD scientists in the EU 7th
Framework, including influencing future FP7 calls and promoting awareness of
relevant call openings, and; iv) influencing Danish research policies towards
research areas of relevance to plant biotech.
